Dont Stop Me Now: Wannabe Stars get Blasted To the Top!

Whether you like it or not, the acts on Sky 1's hilarious talent show, 'Don't Stop me Now' will grab your attention by diving for the stage in hopes of shunning the audience for 100 seconds. But don't worry ,any acts that fail to entertain are zapped off the stage into infinity. The trailer shows acts flying up into the air and blasted through walls. Yes it really is as outrageous and hilarious as it sounds. With the flamboyant host Louis Walsh  from Pineapple Studios we can expect to be led to the most appalling, outlandish or amazing acts in the UK.

The overall concept of 'Don't stop me now' seems like something someone hullicinated on LSD or mushrooms whilst watching  Britain's got Talent. The surreal concept of acts being blown through the air and blasted through brick walls gives a  caricature, animated  feel, the genius benefit of this is that this type of humour will appeal to children just as much as adults. The host Louis Walsh suits  the 'over -the -top' tone of the show and provides extra laughs for the audience.
The comical aspect may cause the show to be viewed more as a comedy rather than talent show , however, the rounds of pitifall, cringe worthy auditionees could also be seen to emphasize the talent of those with true stardom in comparison.

Ways to stick to New Years Resolutions & Goals

1. Set deadlines and dates that you want to complete your goal by.
Ways to stick to New Years Resolutions & Goals This will give you
a good idea of whether your procrastinating . You will also get
of a sense of urgency and self- discipline to take action in time. Huge goals, which require a lot of time can be broken down into manageable targets and will seem more approachable and less overwhelming.
2. Be realistic about the resolutions you make, and limit the amount of goals you have. It is better to narrow your goals down to a few
which you have time to complete, this avoids the sense of disappointment you could face if you set a goal you are not ready to commit to.
3.  This is a favourite of mine , a powerful tool is to post visual reminders of your goal to yourself, photographs, posters , notes on the wall, images help to bring your goal to reality and act as a reminder to stay focused on your target, particularly at times your mind may be losing site of your wishes.
4. Build a support system, get your family and friends involved in your mission! Discuss your goal with your family and peers, but be careful to only enlist the help of those who will be encouraging and supportive. Once they are aware of your goal, their expectations of your success with it will also be motivating for you.
5. Surround yourself with people who have a similar goal. Being around people who are also interested in your target, will give you ideas of ways to reach your goal and will also help to familiarise yourself with it .
6.Give yourself treats  or rewards for achieving different stages you have set out for yourself, for example ‘only once you have done your 50 sit ups for the day can you watch the catch up  sessions of your favourite programme’. Rewarding yourself will give you more of an incentive and sense of fulfilment whilst also getting you into the right habits.
7.  Finally and most importantly, take action immediately! Do it now! One of the simplest and most effective phrases I’ve ever heard, was from a boy with a mental disorder on the Oprah Winfrey show, he had managed to control his rage and anguish significantly. His instructions were ‘Don’t think, Do!’, Sometimes we over analyse and make excuses for delaying things once we have wasted time over thinking. The sooner you take action the better… make that appointment, arrange the meeting, go to the bank, the dietician. …Whatever it is step out of your comfort zone, especially when you don’t feel motivated, and turn those moments into results!

The panel also included The MAD Experience, a charity which holds creative workshops for young people across London, Natalie May and Paris Pillay shared their own experiences in the Media and alerted young people to the hurdles they could face in such a competitive environment, the prevailing message however, was to network and to be persistent and passionate about your career.
Harriet Prest from Sky News also gave inspiring words of advice, amongst a panel of industry experts discussing journalism.Events such as this careers workshop are greatly needed, unemployment levels are at an all time high, Mail Online has reported that ‘One in five 16- to 24-year-olds is jobless and searching for work at a time when five unemployed people are chasing every vacancy’.This level of unemployment can lead to the increase of depression and crime, free , motivating careers events help to boost morale and career focus in these challenging conditions.

“The majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail.” –Napoleon Hill

"Morale is the state of mind. It is steadfastness and courage and hope. It is confidence and zeal and loyalty. It is elan, esprit de corps and determination.” –Gen. George C. Marshall

The Truth may set Looters Free

Since the recent chaos caused by rioters across the UK, the government has taken a stand against those involved. Offenders have been evicted from their homes and prison sentences have been issued.
During the commotion of burning buildings and empty shops , the predominant outcry from the public was for severe measures to be taken in punishing  looters. Daniel Sartain-Clarke was one of the young people involved in the looting , as  a consequence his mother and family received an eviction notice from Wandsworth council. Many appalled members of the public believed that those involved in events which led to losses of houses should also have their homes stolen away. However, it is worth considering that many families have rebellious relatives , many punishments have meant that innocent family members are suffering for actions which they had no involvement in .
A mother in Manchester was recently jailed for accepting a pair of shorts which were looted by a friend. A group was then formed on face book appealing for her release which would suggest that the public feel prison sentences are being issued unequally, extreme punishments are not being evenly suited to the crimes committed.
However, the justice system does seem to be recognizing the responsibility some are taking in owning up to their mistakes. Parents of a boy of 14, who looted a supermarket were praised for turning in their son. Although his picture was shamefully exposed in the Daily Mail, judge Quereshi allowed the boy to escape detention in acknowledgement of his parents honesty in handing their son in .
Their have been cases of  rioters receiving extremely harsh sentences despite owning up,  organizations such as the Mad Experience, a careers advice charity and Art Against Knives , an anti knife crime organization have been reinforcing the belief that the best solution for these problems is for the relationship between the youth and police to be improved and for a stronger communication across the community to be encouraged.

Female rappers are back in Style

Female rappers are in again! 2010 has definitely seen the up rise of female rap talent, and urban artists. Nicki Minaj boasts over a million followers on twitter, In October 2010, Minaj became the first female rapper to have seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100 .Nicki has softened the hard core image of the female rap game through her playful, animated character and her flamboyant girliness.
Nicki’s success has inspired other female artists to emerge onto the male dominated industry; Cher Lloyd from the X Factor is a prime example. Cher’s mixture of rnb and rap also softens the gangster stereotypical image of female rappers, despite masses of negative press, such as The Sun, who labelled her ‘Chavvy Cher’, she’s definitely got a huge buzz surrounding her, and has sparked interest in other chart toppers such as N Dubz’s Dappy who told Zoo magazine ‘She's crazy and spontaneous, so she's definitely like me. Team N-Dubz is right behind her to win’.Whether you love or hate her, Cher will definitely be making her stamp on the music industry, the general public seem to favour her sweet, girly melodies over her shouty, feisty rap style. Her rap voice has hints of an American twang mixed with her Worcestershire accent, which at times sounds a bit like a 17 year old female version of Tim Westwood, but her talent and stage presence is undeniable!
Nicki Minaj is definitely ruling the world right now, her fan base is gigantic and she has consistently been the hot topic of the celeb world. However, her fame and success could still be seen by some as a result of her style and image, she has unquestionable talent and amazing lyrics, but is she being treated as an equal contender to other male rappers? or has her dominance emerged from her style and persona? Loving the Nicki Minaj and Cher buzz either way! We need some more female rappers to add to the collection !!
